This is my "small" rig. The Yamaha BBT-500H is ~11lbs and puts out 500W at 2 Ohms (250W @ 4Ohms, 125W @ 8Ohms). It has "programmable EQ" and can provide a bunch of different sounds ranging from clean, tube, SVT-ish, overdriven, etc. I really like the sound but it's a bit shy on watts for loud things.
The BFM Omni 10.5 is a very efficient horn-loaded cab with full range sound. It's a bit shy on the low end because it's only a small box with a 10" driver in it but with eq it can produce sufficient lows. This speaker is not "commercially available" - you can buy the plans and build your own or, like me, find one that someone else built to try out. This one is 8 Ohms but because its highly efficient even the 125W from the BBT should be able to get plenty loud.
The Schroeder 15+L is a small, lightweight (~30-some lbs) box with a 15" driver in it. It also may lack in
the true "low-low" production but with eq gives what is needed. It's 4 Ohm and a very efficient box as well so
it can get pretty loud with the 250W from the BBT. I'm hoping that combo will be enough for loud GDB rehearsals
(if there is ever another one).
