This is a nice G&L SB-2 with an interesting set of features. It has crinkle black hardware including the pickguard but with an "eye gouger" headstock. It's nice and light (probably 8.something lbs) with great feeling satin neck that shows some nice grain. The body has a bunch of wear but nothing severe and it resonates nicely and sounds like an SB-2 should.
I wasn't sure what strings I wanted on it so I put a set of DR Black Beauties on it right before I took the pictures. I really like the look of the black strings on it but I think I'll probably put SIT Power Flats (groundwounds) on it as that's my favorite sound for an SB-2.
I did my usual stacked master vol/j-pickup vol and tone control upgrade. Although I won't remove it these days
I'm leaning more towards a simple master vol and j pickup vol setup where I only have to move around a wire or two
in the cavity and not put a stacked pot in there. Rolling off the volume can get the same sounds as putting in a
tone control and keeps things simpler (but I do like/want/need a master volume so I can roll off the volume while
keeping the P-to-J ratio fixed).
