The Gorilla Dance Band   Houston, TX

There's plenty of information about this band on the website. It's a going concern and my main musical outlet.

Bended Duende   Houston, TX

A cool "acoustic" singer/songwriter type of thing with Susan Powers, Jimmy Wick, Mike Mattner and myself. It's a "side project" for me and I don't know how long it will last but it's quiet and cool while it's going.

Hybrid Karma   Houston, TX

I really like the stripped-down acoustic sound of this band. No drumkit, just percussion along with acoustic guitar, bass and winds (saxes, flute, clarinet). Walt Walker on guitar and vocals, Mike Mattner on winds and vocals, Mark Holt on percussion and me on bass and a few backing vocals. We went for something like nine months, did a couple of gigs and then called it quits.

Detour   Houston, TX

I played with Lou Jackson (drums, keys, vocals) and Rick Hodges (guitar) for a long time. When we started I was trying to play guitar with them while Phil (Rick's son) played bass. But Phil had more interesting things to do than play with us geezers so I got to switch over to bass after a while. It was all downhill from then. We had a lot of different people sing with us (three Elizabeths (Ayers, , Reed), Georgia Joyce and others I can't recall right now) and had some other folks play with us at different times - Jones Ramsey on drums when Lou moved out from behind to the kit to keys and others. It was good run and I enjoyed it a lot but when my daughter (second child) was born I ran out of spare time and something had to give. We actually played our first party gig under the name "Tastes Like Chicken". A few pictures of Detour in action at one of our very early house party gigs are here and here

The Tomatoes   Atlanta, GA

A fun group with brothers Mike and Mark Davis on guitars, Trace on bass, Jim on drums and yours truly on tenor sax. A very eclectic mix of originals and covers. Pub gigs and lots of fun.

WYSIWYG   Corvallis, OR

Andy Davidson on guitar & vocals, Larry Plotkin on drums & vocals, Steve Dixon on guitar & vocals, myself and Ed Lewellyn trading off sax and bass duties with Theresa Gibney joining on keys later on in the band's life. This was my intro to bass playing (as it was for Ed) and in the end we both wanted to be full time bass players and let the other play sax. Classic rock covers.
