The Qutb Minar Complex

The Qutb Minar is the tallest brick minaret in the world (72.5m high). The incomplete tower is the Alai Minar which was going to be twice as high as the Qutb Minar. Only the 24.5m first storey was completed. The iron pillar is 7m high, weighs 6 tons and was constructed/erected around 400AD in a different location in India. It is supposed to be good luck to stand with your back to it and have your hands meet behind it but people were damaging the pillar and a fence was put around it. We saw both ringneck parrakeets (the one pictured) and moustache parrakeets (like our pet, Charlie) at this complex.
